Bell Principal, Tonly Davidson and Administrative Assistant, Kay Duncan, present BUGS awards to Bell School students.
The BUG awards are given to students who have improved their grades from the previous grading period. The BUG program is a Kiwanis service project.
The 2022-23 sophomore of the year is Tony Davidson. Tony is the son of Tony and Sky Davidson. Tony has attended Stilwell School since kindergarten. He graduated as valedictorian of his eighth grade class.
Tony is the president of his sophomore class and a student council representative. Tony is president of the Technology Student Association of which he has competed at the state and national levels. He is the Adair County 4-H reporter and was recently inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame. He is co-captain of the high school academic team. Tony is also a member of the Stilwell High School golf team.
Tony enjoys community service projects through 4-H and student council. He also enjoys volunteering at various events. His favorite project is working with his Reading Treasure Chest Program. Tony’s Reading Treasure Chest Program is a project he created to promote reading. Each year he raises money to purchase books for elementary age students. For the past four years he has visited Stilwell Elementary to read to students and provide several students with a set of books to take home. He also visits the elementary several times a year to read with students and encourage reading.
When Tony is not busy with school and community service you can find him on the golf course, studying the Bible, working with his 4-H poultry project or in the Stilwell student section supporting the Indians. After graduating high school, Tony plans to attend college and pursue a career in the medical field.

Each year, Stilwell Kiwanis Club selects a sophomore of the year. The award considers the student's involvement in organizations, leadership skills and experience, and community service. In addition to a scholarship from the local club, their application is eligible to be submitted to the Texas-Oklahoma Kiwanis Foundation for an additional scholarship award.
The 2020-21 sophomore of the year is Seth Brown. Seth is the son of Craig and Liz Brown. He is a member of the Cherokee Nation. Seth has attended Stilwell School since preschool and graduated as Co-Valedictorian of his eighth grade class.
Seth is a member of Key Club, student council, 4-H, and the math and science club. H e is also a member of the Stilwell High School golf team and plays on the varsity ice hockey team for the Northwest Arkansas Ice Hogs.
He is a mentor for the Adair County Boys and Girls Club at the Stilwell Unit. He attended Boys and Girls Club for many years before becoming a mentor. As mentor he enjoys teaching and working with younger students and strives to be a positive role model for the students he mentors.
Seth enjoys community service projects through 4-H, student council, Key Club and his youth group. He can also often be seen volunteering at events sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, Chamber of Commerce and other community groups.
He attends First Christian Church in Stilwell, where he is active in the youth group. He enjoys assisting with VBS, Jr. Church and the nursery. He also enjoys attending Christ in Youth church camp and church mission trips. Seth enjoys teaching lessons during youth services, lock-ins and for the younger students.
Seth plans to pursue a degree in Digital Media/Film Making after graduation.

Kiwanis members entertained residents of the Stilwell Nursing Home with carols and gifts.
The 2018 (Chloe Brown) and 2019 (Sidney Ritter) Strawberry Queens present a flat of berries to Oklahoma Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell
The kickoff event for the May Strawberry Festival is the Queen Pageant held in March. The 2018 queen Chloe Brown presents flowers to the 2019 queen, Sydney Ritter.
Natalie Gaches, Stilwell Kiwanis Club's 2019 Sophomore of the Year, receives her award of $250 and a certificate from District 31 Lt. Governor and club secretary Dan Collins.
The annual Strawberry Festival queen pageant is the first official event for the festival. The 2019 queen and her court are Audra Gregory, 1st runner-up, Sidney Ritter, 2019 queen, and Sydneigh Fourkiller, 2nd runner-up.
In 2018 the Kiwanis Stage was constructed to replace an aging bandstand. All the funds for the project were donated by the public and the county commissioners provided labor and equipment for the groundwork.
Kiwanis helps sponsor the Stilwell Shop with a Cop program where a law enforcement representative helps a child purchase $100 worth of Christmas presents.
