Stilwell Kiwanis Club

Pet Protocol

The pet protocol is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants in the Strawberry Festival, and all public events in Stilwell.

Event planners and city officials request those bringing dogs to walk around the festival observe common courtesy and respect of others, as well as city ordinances.

Pets are allowed at the Strawberry Festival, however, it is strongly encouraged to leave pets at home. Visitors who choose to bring a pet, please make sure to abide by the rules and ordinances of the City of Stilwell.

No domesticated animal is allowed to be at large within the City limits, which means dogs must be securely or physically restrained by means of chain, harness, leash, rope, or other device required to restrain such animal. The person in control of the animal must be capable of controlling the animal.

It is unlawful for any domesticated animal to make or create any noise that disturbs the peace and quiet of any person regardless of time of day. This would include a crowded area where they are barking at other animals or people.

Every person with a dog will be asked to provide proof of current vaccination.

Vaccination is required when the animal is within the City limits. This can be by collar tag or vaccination records.

Water must also be available for the animal from a container, not just a sip from the owner’s hand. These rules apply to all dogs, including service animals, which are required to follow the same rules. For further information please contact City Hall at 918-696-7143, press 5.
